Catching up

The little man has a new ride!! The Jeep called it quits, so after adding up all the money from the yard sale this past weekend, we went and picked up this little hot rod. It even has a real working AM radio. What will they come up with next?

Needless to say, he loves it and we are back to taking our nightly walks again.

THE closet!! This was my request for Mother's Day. And look how well it turned out. I have 1 shelf left to go through and sort. I love it, I can find things finally, LOL.And I finally cleaned off my counter again, lol.

We went to Art of the Square on Sunday. I always love looking around at all the creative expressions there. If you have never gone, you are missing out! It is Fabulous!SWIC's (the college I go to) Art department put these awesome puzzles together for the Children's Art Area. They sent these boards to local schools and let them paint them. They turned out wonderfully.

A Picture of Paris

My wonderful mother in law just got back from Paris and we both decided that this is our favorite picture of hers. So I wanted to share it and say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!!

I challenge you!!!

I have started a pledge program for the

St. Louis Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I challenge everyone to pledge $10.00 and to give a friend the same challenge. I am hoping to raise $500 by race time. (June 16th) So go to my donation page and help others. https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=170061&lis=1&kntae170061=8B4547CC444B464FA547856D2BFD2A04&supId=174838701 Thanks

Jen

I lost Missy's a post-a-day challenge. I can't believe that it has been a whole week since my last post. I am still dwelling on my final research paper. I don't know why I can't get into it lately. The other 2 have come so easy. ACK, that is what I will be doing this weekend and I'll scrap if I finish. Maybe that will get me motivated.

Well I signed some more classes at FKS today, so those will be going up on my Class Schedule as soon as I finish putting them together.

Right now my Summer Layout (Saturday, June 2) and the Perpetual Calendar (Sunday, June 3) are up on the schedule and on display at For Keeps Sake. Be sure to check them out, and sign up!!!

I've Been Tagged by Sue

So I am supposed to tell you 7 things that you don't know about me. 1. I used to have my tongue pierced, yep, I have pictures to prove it. 2. I have been at the same job for over 1/2 of my life. 3. I don't know if I can make it through the Fun Walk at the Race for the Cure, but I am signed up and gonna try!!! 4. I am the oldest of 10 grandkids and until September the only one to have a kid of their own. (Can you tell I'm grasping for straws??) 5. I used to be a race official for the MARA Midgets (nothing like bossing around a bunch of guys!!) 6. I love to learn new things 7. I am a Chocolate-a-holic (Yes Weight Watchers has chocolate!!!) Let's see I'll tag Tammy, Christine, Theresa, Tautchia, Kathy Romack, MaryJo, , Special K . Do you guys really read this blog? Most of the time I think I am rambling to myself. :D

Oh yeah, I just joined Carolina Sue's Crew!!! I'll be there to WALK for the Cure. I don't run. Ever. heh.

April Challenge LO

I put together the challenges on Tammy's site http://www.heartinhandscrap.com so I thought I would put one together. It was the inspiration in my challenge this month.

So the challenge was to use cardstock (no patterned paper), flowers, stamps and chipboard. Sorry for the glare on the photo. It is one of few and the best of when I was pregnant with Reed.

Race for the Cure

The Race for the Cure is coming on June 16th. Registration is open. Last year I slept in for a cure, that was so easy, LOL. This year I hope to join some of my fellow FKSers to support this wonderful event. Check it out, even if you can't make it you can alwasy Sleep In!!

April FKS DT

I got to play with a new paper line called Paper Elements this month. It is a really playful line, with coordinating colors on the back side and also the best part, on the paper strip at the bottom they tell you what colors of Bazzill are made to match. Check out Paper Elements in the store, they have some adorable rubons too!!
Reed found this beetle walking alond the sidewalk in the backyard. He cracked me up when he said what a cute bug it was. He talked about it for days.

I LOVE this moon and rocket ship (so does Reed) So I wanted to make it the focal point of my layout. So I added a mini book with some of Paper Elements cardstock stickers and some Scenic Route rubons.

A little help from your friends...

There is a family in the scrapbooking community who needs our help. Jen Gallacher (I'm sure you have seen her layouts in several magazines) and her family are dealing with the hardship. Joey, their 12 year old son has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Tania Willis has started a paypal account and a blog for the family. They have a long road ahead of them. You can read about them on the 2Peas board or the blog site is http://www.benefitforjen.blogspot.com/ . It is amazing how someone that doesn't even know you can make such a change in your life. Almost $10,000 has been raised for this family. And as some of us learned from Ali Edward's fund raiser for Autism Speaks, it takes one person to tell one person .... So take a minute if you could and help support Jen and tell one person. You can make a difference.

Had a great class today! Just wanted to post and say that tomorrow's Time Layout class is cancelled. I hope to reschedule it a little later in the year. Thanks

Weight Watchers

So today I took the plunge. With Tammy and Christine by my side, we all joined the infamous WW. I have positive thoughts about all this, so hopefully it will be GREAT!! Send me your good vibes and wish me luck!

CKC Layouts

Can you believe it 3 posts in one night!!!! Don't count on this a lot, LOLOL. I wanted to get these up before CKC but I didn't. Sorry. So if you saw these in For Keeps Sake's Booth, they were mine. TFL!

Pub Dinner Pics

The crew minus one unnamed soul who wouldn't get in the picture. Right Katie? Check out Tautchia and Kathy (aka Special K) sporting those stunning Cosmo Cricket ties!!
Christine, Tammy, me (yes I was crying before Tautchia decided to take our pic, it's a whole Jesus thing, ya had to be there) and Robyn. So Christine and Tammy will probably disown me now that I posted their pics on my blog, but that is ok. :D

A Post a Day

There is a challenge for the ladies on the Design Team and the Instructors to post to your blog atleast once a day. Starting today. Soooo let's see if I can pull this off!! I'm going to upload some pics that my friend Tautchia sent from the Pub Dinner. I hope to have my pics by the weekend.

The new and improved scraproom

Art and I went and picked up the countertop and cabinets today and he was sweet enough to put them in for me today. (That was after he built Reed a new sandbox.) So I hurried up and took pictures before I made it a mess, LOL.

CKC was a BLAST, I have the blisters to prove it! Saw lots of stuff to put on my Christmas list, LOL, and met lots of really great people.

Thank you to the ladies that came to the Pub Dinner, it was sooo much fun. And Jesus made it all that much more fun!!

Forgot to add

That a new class project is being released on Tammy's site. It is a really cute 7Gypsies tag book about Gratitude. Check it out. http://www.heartinhandscraps.com

So Sorry

Things have been crazy, trying to get DT things done for CK Convention. Then putting together the Pub Dinner and all the goodie bags, spilling boiling water on myself, oh yeah did I mention my 10-15 page research paper?
One word around here.. BUSY!
Hopefully things will get back to normal soon. CKC is this weekend should be LOADS of fun.

Playing some today

I tell ya what, it feels great to scrap. This Sweetwater paper just works with so many projects and I plan to use every last scrap of this paper. I LOVE IT! The frame is from Hobby Lobby in the Easter section (40% off, love a good bargain) I think I might hang this over my desk.

Book for CKC

FKS has gotten in these cool new products made by KaiserCraft (check them out at www.kaisercraft.com.au ) I picked their board book to play with. It is perfect for 4x6 pictures. I have just started scrapping my wedding recently and this Classic patterned paper from Sweetwater was so perfect. I still have some embellishing to do, but I was so excited about how it turned out I told some people I would get it up on the blog asap. So I hope you enjoy. I know I do!

FKS Easter Eggs

Each Instructor/Design Team Member at ForKeepsSake were given a paper egg to decorate as we please. I wanted to share mine. I think it is quite glitzy. Love Bling!

I used Making Memories white and glitter glaze ( I use this one EVERYTHING) my assorted flowers punches and Westrim for my bling. (Or Diamonds as Reed says)

Look for all the eggs at the gazebo at FKS.

Ok I have scrapping to do, maybe I'll finish and share later.

Oh yeah, did you hear? Tammy's store is LIVE!! Check it out!!

All About Me Mini Book

I sent out an email looking for used gift cards, with no avail. Then I found a challenge on 2Peas, the lady sent us old Starbucks gift cards. And here are a few pages from my mini book. I used the Bind It All Zutter to punch the holes and add the binding ( I LOVE this machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Papers are the new Sweetwater with all kinds of rub ons and stickers. I am still messing with this book, adding and taking stuff off. The prima on the cover has been taken off and moved. Thanks for looking!

Class Boards at FKS

The teachers at ForKeepsSake now have their own board on the wall with some of their classes. (The lightweight ones anyways, LOL) So make sure to look above the class area to see everyone's great classes. Here is my board. I thought it turned out pretty cute.

First Challenge

I have posted my first challenge on Tammy's website, come play for a cool RAK. http://www.heartinhandscraps.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45

Meet My New Niece or Nephew

Yep, for those of you that don't know, my little sister is pregnant. She is due on our grandpa's birthday, September 6th. In 6 weeks, she gets to find out what it is.

Perpetual Calendar Class

Well since I just burned myself on the fireplace, I thought I would upload some more class stuff while I sat here with some ice on my hand. ( I know what a genious move ) This class will be offered on May 13th 2:00-4:00pm. The paper will be different, this was just done so that I could get it approved. If you like this paper it is one of Sweetwater's new line, Classic. I love it. It seems that red, black and cream are the "new rage" Chipboard is Fancy Pants of course and in the middle of the flower is a Scrapworks Hug.

Thanks for looking.

Some Changes

As you can see I am revamping the blog a bit. I have added my class schedule in the side bar and I am currently trying to find directions to change my header. If you happen to know them or where to find them, please let me know.

I have been playing a lot on Tammy's site (check the side bar for a link) She is REALLY close to launching the boutique! I am so excited for her, and I can't wait to play. She has a forum and her gallery, if you haven't seen it...you are missing out! Those are already live, so check it out.

New Goodies!

I don't know if you remember I was telling everyone about the CHA in Spirit Day on 2Peas, well I got one of my prizes and wanted to share a picture!

There is going to be lots of playing at my house.

I had to share these, I thought that they turned out SO cute! The paper is Capn Jack from Rusty Pickle, the stamps for the map are Purple Onion Designs and the red bling in his eye is Heidi Swapp. I hope the ladies love them as much as I do.

Wow, my class pictures are up on the store's site before my blog. Let me take a few minutes to catch up for those that pay attention to this place. (Sorry I have been a bad blogger)

This is my Rusty Pickle Eggs Mini Book Class. It was the sneek peak I gave you last time I blogged. Saturday, March 24th from 2pm-4pm. $15.00. Space is limited.

These are two pictures from my Sesame Street Colors Board Book Class. This is scheduled to be on Friday, April 20th 10:30-12:30. $15.00. You will need to bring 2 pictures for each color. (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple)

This is my Time Layout. This class date is still being worked on since we had to order the chipboard. Can you see Tammy and Christine in it?? :)

There are a couple more classes sitting here, but I haven't gotten the ok for them just yet. I'm almost done with my Mom mini book and I'll have that up. It is like the Eggs book, but using SEI's Winnie Walls.

I got my first For Keeps Sake Design Team project done. And here it is. The pp is Blush by Basic Grey and Bazzill Cardstock. I have a lot of bling in there (of course) that is by Westrim. Assorted pictures of my mom, sister and me.

This picture is from Tuesday when we got the 3 or so inches of snow. Reed and I got to play hookey from school. It is snowing again today, so I thought I would share this snowy day pic. I think we have atleast another inch or more on the ground.

Here is it, your sneek peak...
Yep that is it. If you want to see more you will have to visit the store or wait. Isn't that paper yummy? You just can't go wrong with Rusty Pickle!! This line is called Chocolate Bunny.
Just got off the phone with the store, this class will be offered on March 24th from 2pm-4pm. $15 There are only 12 spots available. So get them while their hot! 314-487-8131. http://www.forkeepssake.typepad.com/

Wow, it's been a while since my last post. Things are busy, busy around here. Earlier this week, I went and applied for another job. I am officially a teacher at For Keeps Sake in South County. (St. Louis) Looks like my first class is going to be at the end of March, unless I can get something else put together before then. I am working hard on that, plus I joined their design team. So that is 2 DTs I am currently on. I am having a blast! It is great to be able to do what you love and share it with others.
I got to meet Theresa Tyree, she is one of the Swappin Divas that I have been talking to on the internet. She is also a new instructor at FKS. Check out her blog http://mymiraculouslife.blogspot.com/. She has a lot of great stuff there AND she is getting ready to have a challenge with a great RAK.
She also has the link to the What Paper are You Quiz. Which I thought was quite funny. I am Bazzill cardstock, LOL. Here is what it said, "Your style is pretty laid back. You enjoy straight linear pages and although you don't mind experimenting with all the newest products, your favorite pages always seem to be the ones with solid colors. With 130 custom textured and over 300 total cardstock colors to choose from, you're sure to find what you need in bazzill paper and you like it!"
I'm uploading the pictures of my first class and will give you a sneek peak in just a minute. I hope you love Rusty Pickle!!

Sorry for being such a poor blogger lately. Things are always busy around here. We had a great snow (I still have to load the snowman pics in) and over on TwoPeas they had CHA in Spirit Day. A bunch of us put together challenges throughout the day to do for prizes. It was SO much fun! I was completely wiped out and I only got a couple LOs finished. But I wanted to share them with you. I am still working on some others.

Been busy at work, I volunteered to move classes. I am now the head teacher for the toddler class. Should be a lot of fun, I have been working extra hours to get everything the way I want it. We are also knocking down 2 of the walls where the old office was and I get that extra room. Woohoo. So I will probably be working this weekend too.

School is crazy, I just finished a 3-5 page research paper and now we are onto 5-7 pages. He already said that our last one will be 13-15 pages. I am SO not looking forward to that.

I am anxious to get to the store and see what Ann has ordered from CHA. I LOVE getting to play with all the new product. It has been a while since I had to work for the store.
